Mexican "Day of the Dead" - Wellington Foodies

Join Wellington Foodies  for this Dia de los Muertos class with Chef Amber Sturtz from Easy as Kai. In honour of the Day of the Dead, we'll make some of Amber's favourite food - tacos! Amber's allegiances are split between growing up in Texas and her time in Southern California. 

In this class, she will show you how to make homemade flour tortillas, and then we will use these to hold and devour our fillings - fish tacos and tofu tacos. Fish tacos are a classic Southern California/Baja Mexico food, and Amber became completely addicted to them while living in San Diego. Tofu tacos are a creation she came up to prove that tacos can still taste good without a meaty filling. . 

We'll use seasonal vegetables, discuss Mexican spices, and battered versus pan fried fish. And because you can't have a taco without a tasty beverage, you'll also have a go at making margaritas from scratch. The class is hands on, and you will receive a recipe card which details how to make each dish, along with where to buy the ingredients in Wellington. 

This class is suitable for pescatarians and vegetarians!
